Here’s another site to file in the ideas-I-wish-I’d-come-up-with folder. If you’ve never been to woot.com, it’s a deal-a-day website that promotes one ridiculously good deal every day, and often sells out by the early afternoon. That’s it. They only sell one product per day, but it’s always way below retail.
DealDotCom took that idea, and spun it to appeal to internet marketers. Here’s the pitch:

Ok. Sounds vaguely enticing. So all those internet marketing software packages, scripts, eBooks, and the like that you’ve been eying can be had for heavily discounted prices, for one day only. What a great way to encourage repeat traffic. It’s a complete surprise everyday. Buyers win because they get great deals that are only available at this site, and advertisers get quick cash, as well as good exposure. Everybody wins, right?
So that sounds like a good enough idea. Here’s the kicker.
Two-tier 35/15 affiliate commission forever.
What does that mean? If someone buys something through your affiliate link you make 35% of DealDotCom’s profit. Forever. If they go back and buy something later, they’re your customer. If they refer a new customer, you make 15% of the profit on whatever they buy. Forever. Not 90 days, not 6 months. Forever. Build up a good network of referrals, and you don’t have to do any work at all, ever, and you’ll still make money.
